PCE unveils new look for Primark
Primark’s new landmark store on Edinburgh’s top shopping street presents a new upmarket look for the discount clothing specialist thanks to PCE.
The new store located in Edinburgh’s main shopping area of Princes Street is now up and running and is set to become the blueprint for the company’s new build stores throughout the UK.
The contract on behalf of Techrete presented PCE’s crews with the challenge of carrying out the work safely and efficiently on one of the busiest streets in Scotland.
On-going tramway work and tight access meant that the usual articulated vehicles were not suitable so loads were split and delivered to site on rigid trailers and not “artics.”
A tower crane and a mobile crane were deployed to install some 350 architectural precast concrete panels and 37 GRC panels weighing up to five tonnes.
Patton was the main contractor for the project.
