Strictly PCE for top dance company
PCE has been awarded a contract for the precast floors at a new dance studio for the prestigious Rambert Dance Company.
The project will be the first ever design and build contract awarded to PCE by Vinci Construction UK Ltd and involves a site at Doon Street on central London’s South Bank.
It involves the design, manufacture and installation of precast double-T flooring units on three levels of the main structure and is scheduled to start in June and will involve three visits to site up to the end of July.
PCE will deploy a 350 tonne mobile crane to install the 17 metre units which have been manufactured by Banagher Precast Concrete and weigh up to 20 tonnes each.
The use of double-T units is fundamental to achieving the architects’ aim of providing both a structural solution and achieving the open internal spaces required. Manufacturing and installation to a strict schedule is also critical to the progress of the overall programme.
