Logistics
Logistics plans are established in line with the construction methodology of the project, the programme and the constraints of the site and its geographic location. All aspects of the construction operations will be considered and 'mapped out' in the form of a detailed drawing and logistics plan. The following issues will be considered -
- The capacity of crane required
- The feasible locations for positioning the crane along
with rigging and de-rigging
- The size of the site along with practical access and
egress
from the site
- Vehicle movements, types of vehicles and numbers of deliveries
- Safe access and egress to the structure
- Any local and/or physical restrictions to the site
- Existing and new site services
- Other forms of construction and site operations that are to take place concurrently with the erection of the precast superstructure
- Phasing and sequencing requirements
In considering all of these issues, a co-ordinated approach to delivering the project is ensured.
