Project details
HMP Dovegate is near Marchington in Staffordshire and is a Category B establishment designed for a population of 800 inmates. The prison complex comprises 11 main structures with the two largest being muti-wing houseblocks containing the main prison accommodation. The scheme also contained segregation blocks, regimes buildings and hospital facilities, all of which were constructed by PCE in precast concrete.
During the project more than 1,000 tonnes of precast concrete being erected daily at the projects peak. In total over 11,000 units including the roof structure were erected in just 142 working days utilising nine crawler and mobile cranes.
