A critical element of works within the T5 scheme, the welcome roundabout is at the entrance to T5 and is one of the key infrastructure phases of the scheme. The tunnel was constructed using the Techspan arch system with the concrete units being supplied by Macrete Precast. Drawing upon its considerable experience, PCE provided the expertise to facilitate the speedy and safe construction of the tunnel. The main arch units are self-supporting with the oblique end units requiring a temporary works solution until the tunnel is fully grouted. PCE provided client Freysinnet with a complete service from site survey, to craneage through to grouting and completion.
