The Project
PCE completed the precast concrete construction for two new apartment blocks in the centre of St Helen's, Merseyside, ahead of schedule, with a build rate in excess of two apartments each working day!
Both blocks, housing some 196 apartments were handed over to client Countryside Properties PLC for the installation of external finishes and fitting out.
The 24-week programme at Hall Street, St Helen's, saw PCE design, procure and erect more than 1,000 precast concrete external and internal wall units, together with beams, columns, stairs and landings. Approximately 14,500 sqm of hollowcore concrete flooring was also installed.
Additionally, the contract involved the construction of ground floor undercroft parking in both of the apartment blocks.
Construction was carried out using PCE's award-winning Ambitus safety system, a combination of adjustable guard rails and passive fall arrest netting.
